What we do

Badminton sessions start up at YMCA sports centre

JessTysonBadminton370A new coached adult badminton session, aimed at all standards, is due to start at the YMCA Norfolk Sports Centre at Trowse near Norwich on March 1.

It is one of the first projects to be organized by new YMCA Norfolk Health and Well-being Development Worker Jess Tyson (pictured right) and is being run in conjunction with Badminton England.

Jess said: “You do not need to bring a partner, just turn up with a racket and our qualified coach will organise games and matches as well as being on hand to give coaching tips.

“It is aimed at all standards from beginners, those getting back into the sport to experienced players. It is a good sport to take up because it can be played at your own level and be as energetic or as gentle as you like. It is also a very engaging and social sport both on and off court.”

The open mornings take place on Tuesdays between 10am and 12noon and cost £2 for 1 hour (book either 10 – 11am or 11am – 12pm) or £3 for both hours

They will be held in the YMCA sports centre, at Trowse, NR14 8SP, from Tuesday March 1 for ten weeks.
